Morris Architects and Arup have signed on as sponsors of the upcoming conference “Megaregions + MetroProsperity: Sustainable Economics for the Texas Triangle.” The conference, hosted by Houston Tomorrow with America 2050, will be in Houston September 24-25. It will be the first large assembly of leaders from the metropolitan regions that make up the Texas Triangle, including Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Austin.

Arup is a full-service engineering, design and consultancy firm of approximately 10,000 staff located across the globe in over 40 countries and over 80 offices, including one in Houston.

Steve Clark, Arup’s Rail Business Leader for the Americas, said “We are pleased to be a sponsor of this important conference. The development of high speed rail in Texas, initially within the Texas Triangle Megaregion and eventually connecting to our neighboring states, is critical to the long-term sustainability of our State.  As we experience the growth expected over the next 20 and 30 years, we must continue to add additional modes of transportation to our existing system.”

Morris Architects is a 200-person architectural practice with offices in Houston, Orlando, Los Angeles, and Rio de Janeiro. Morris Architects provides architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and planning services to a diverse national and international client base.

Doug Childers, a principal in Morris’s Urban Studio, says “The reality of regional interdependence in the Texas Triangle is a fact on the ground.  We need to bring the best minds to bear in planning for a sustainable future in this megaregion.”

Registration for the conference is open. Sponsorships are also still available. Please contact Jay Blazek Crossley by email or at 713-523-5757 if you have any questions about the conference, sponsorship, or registration.
