Jeff Taebel is the Community and Environmental Planning Director of the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC), where he oversees the community and economic development, environmental planning, livable communities, socioeconomic modeling and disaster recovery programs for the 13-county Houston-Galveston region.

Throughout his career, he has actively promoted quality planning and development in a variety of leadership roles at the local, state and national level. He is a past President of the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA) and currently serves on the Urban Land Institute Houston District Council Executive Committee. In April 2008, he was inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners.

sallycampbellSally Campbell
Sally Campbell is the Executive Director of Envision Central Texas, where she has served since 2004. Envision Central Texas was founded in 2001 to address the tremendous growth pressures on the five-county Austin region. From 1988 to 2004, Sally was employed at the North Texas Commission, a regional non-profit organization focused on improving the economy and quality of life of the 12-county Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. She served as senior vice president from 2000 to 2004, receiving awards and recognition for her writing, publication and marketing campaigns.

Campbell was also one of the founders of the North Texas Clean Air Coalition and helped create and direct a nationally recognized mentor-entrepreneur program that matches small, women and minority-owned businesses in North Texas with large business mentors. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Auburn University and a Graduate Marketing Certificate from Southern Methodist University. Campbell has more than 30 years of experience in business, communications, and nonprofit management.

Karen Walz
karenwalzKaren Walz, founder of Strategic Community Solutions, specializes in the organization of communities in order to create a more sustainable region with a better economic foundation and quality of life. Walz is the Project Manager for Vision North Texas, which works with citizens and public officials to develop a vision for a sustainable future in the 16-county North Texas region.
